Are the hatcheries by mail chicks out of chicks as well?
I know what you mean KDOGG. I used to raise enough meat birds for our yearly needs at my old farm and would take them to a local Mennonite farm. They had an inspected facility set up just for butchering. It was well worth the $2 per chicken and $8 per turkey price tag to have them do it. And I knew my birds were treated well with human hands and no harsh chemicals were used.
First time I went though I bawled like a baby when I left my birds. It got easier in time.
Now I live where there are no places to take them. Remember, we have severe allergies here, but I've been able to make do with what safe stuff I can find locally, which was already super hard to find.
Now? Pfft. And for the foreseeable future? Double pfft....it's gonna be really hard to find safe meats. So, I've decided I'll need to put my big girl boots on and butcher myself. I know how, and I'm not squeamish at all, I just don't like to. I'm a ninny.
Bingo ^^^It was also held up for other reasons. For example, initially it was going to be a tax rebate, not a cut check. Also it was going to be based on income tax percentage, which meant people making a lot of money already were going to be making even MORE money from it. Now it's based on flat rates in reverse - if you make more than a certain amount in a year your amount goes down not up. And disabled people or people who were fired were going to get $0, which completely defeated the purpose.
It also included a $500 billion company bailout with no transparency. It was basically just a free pass for anyone to cut a check to any company for a huge sum of money without even telling us how it was spent or who was signing what to where.
Earmarks like the 25m to the kennedy center exist on every bill, and some of them still went through. They're a drop in the bucket which is why they get squeezed in. I don't think they're required but they're hardly the only reason it got shut down. It was just a bad bill in general in its first form.
I recorded our chicken singing her egg song the other day and my husband put it on the walkie-talkie for his work and they were busting out laughing...
He said it was his job to make everybody laugh at least once a day during this time
What are you going to do when they all start fighting and beating each other up?I laughed so hard yesterday when my little EE was looking for the hen singing the egg song and singing his little heart back to hernot crowing (though he did that too right before) but clicking and bawking and singing back
then he got scared when she finally came out LOL stuff like this is why I don’t totally hate them yet and why I don’t think I could butcher them

Thank you. Back at cha'...You are not a ninny. Processing is an unfortunate reality. I can't . But I could probably pay someone else to do it.![]()
