I have a family member who is a sheriff and he's been spit on, coughed on, and food spit at him on purpose. People are so disgusting. I don't get it and I never will.
My cousin is a police officer in VA and I’m sure he’s probably had similar happen although I haven’t ever asked him about it so don’t know for sure.

Yeah ones who respect the world and others around them. I wasn't going into the Walmart because I'm not for line cutters and people being disrespectful.
I don’t understand people who go through life so disrespectful and mean. It’s not that hard to be nice.

A couple months ago my mom and I were at Walmart at night and the kid ringing us up said something like “This is why I love working at night. Everybody’s so nice.” I almost wanted to cry 😭

I forget what had happened, something minor I think, but the lady in front of us and then my mom & I were both really nice to him but you could tell other customers hadn’t been. 😭💔

I don’t get why people are so mean to employees. :(

And UGH! Line cutters are the worst!! I’ve let people go before if they don’t have a lot of stuff but cutters are the worst.

Speaking of shopping, has anyone been able to find hand sanitizer? I've been looking for it for about 3 weeks now and I haven't even seen any in someone else's cart.

And while shopping, I must say people are patient about waiting in lines to get in stores. And they're polite inside the stores.

I think here in LA it's slowed things down and people are responding well to that aspect. But I must say what I haven't liked at all is all the disposable gloves people take off at their cars and just dump on the pavement in parking lots. Who do they think is supposed to follow them around and clean up after them?

@Beer can
How are you?

Your state's numbers are horrible.
It's NYC's #s.
The state still pretty low but in all counties now, where we had a few in the Adirondack mountain area with none now have some. Couple counties are pretty high up by the Great Lakes, Buffalo area and Rochester area couple small cities but nothing like NYC. Albany area our capital is higher than most state counties but not as high as those other two by the Great Lakes. My county has it's first death. NY will not say where no town nothing just county. We all know its the wife of a guy that works were my oldest DD works, he has it, he hadn't been to work for nine days cause wife sick (prob in quarantine just no one knew) then ... another person in his area has it now..
Was six a couple weeks ago here then eight last week still zero deaths (kinda feel like crap posting this with many of you posting horrible doubling #s) but just to show you it isn't NY State, social distancing, staying home, limiting shopping and interaction with everybody (we here do that anyway) WORKS!!

Yes it is and it was serious and scary on all sides. I wasn’t trying to downplay it all or anything. Just meant that the actual fighting did not take place here so it was probably less scary for some people than people living where the fighting was taking place.

Someone had said that their grandparents came here to flee the Nazis so for them that was way scarier than the virus so I was just responding to that/trying not to downplay anything.

My original post and point was just that my Nana thinks that this is scarier than the war and that that, to me, shows just how scary this thing is. That’s it. Was not trying to downplay anyone’s experience or the war or anything like that.

Of course the war was terrifying and horrific and awful for many people. For some it wasn’t or didn’t directly affect them. Perspective is everything.

I don’t even agree with my nana, personally I feel like the war had to have been way worse.

But I just wanted to share what she thought and her perspective on it. Didn’t realize it would be taken so many different ways. She’s 84 now. Of course it’s scary to her.
Didn't mean myself to downplay what you said should've clarified what I was saying/meant, didn't. I apologize.
I just meant it was hundreds of thousands of American kids that died fighting in the US military WWII. They were kids some snuck in younger than 18. This feels like a war but we are not losing hundreds of thousands of our kids.

AZ 1769 cases and 41 deaths

Cap, you're usually a voice of reason, I'm surprised by this comment.
Well it seems obvious to me that people need to protect themselves from such a quick spreading bug. So many people seem to be still in denial. You can lead a horse to water....
