It won't be hard to thread at all. Those funny looking half arrows indicate how the thread travels, though I'm a bit uncertain as to why I can't see the take up arm.
There should be a little metal bar sticking out of the skinny slot to the left of the words "Easy Thread"

Ok, gently rotate the fly wheel (big round knob coming off the right side of the machine. The only knob on the right side) towards you and see if the take up arm (little bar with a crook in it) comes out of the slot. Sometimes they like to hide.

If you rotate the wheel on the right toward you does the silver arm come out of the slot on the left a bit?
