I'm glad you finally got it! I know it's not the same as working, but you deserve it with all the work you did before you were laid off.
After 16 years of torture I should say so! :gig As long as my next job lets me work at home and I don't have to be tied to a phone I'll be good.

I don't know if you've seen the movie 2012 but you put me in the mind of the guy who had a radio show and was transmitting up to the very end as he stood overlooking yellowstone national park's volcano blasts. funny yet sobering. Yes I am in Waxahachie aka Hachie by way of Missouri.
A volcano erupted in Texas? Where? :lau

My friend has been telling me how crazy it is to work in customer service and have to take phone calls at home because of this virus. She said that she is on the phone about 12 hours every single day straight.

I'm all set with that... She said most of it is people complaining or having attitudes. It wears on her.

That would be a tough job.

I don’t even really fully know how though either.... I mean, obviously I need to completely cut out all the crap like the sugar and desserts and stuff cause I eat waaaaaaayyyyyy too much of that stuff but is bread still allowed? Potatoes? I don’t know. Maybe I should just start with cutting out the sugar? Cause I feel like that is probably worse than anything else but maybe not. But that one will be tough because practically everything I eat is some form of sugar. Or like I eat it with every meal practically. 🙈

Does this mean I can’t have my tea either?

As I said earlier, I missed the origins of this particular thread.

Surely you've talked to your doctor. Did he or she refer you to a nutritionist or an introductory class on diabetes (don't even know which level you said you were at).? I think that's sorta standard practice because it gets a little complicated and it's a major change for most people.

Cutting sugar is HARD but I can tell you from past experience that when you bite the bullet and get through it the craving goes away. That said, honesty requires that I tell you I've gotten thoroughly addicted again and haven't been able to kick it for the last several years.

If you want a White Knuckle Buddy, we could try to do it together...

As for tea I'm a major tea lover and that's why I've always drunk it (go ahead and correct me, guys; I'm sticking with "drunk") without anything. I like to taste all those subtle grassy notes. Try it! It's good stuff that really doesn't need sugar!

Good luck. I hope we're not scaring you to death or beating you over the head. It's just important stuff that can enormously improve your life down the road.

OK I see you are still drunk. :lau

I worked for an insurance company as an agent. I had a license in all states and worked with angry customers all day. Normally I worked from home which I loved, but the customers were complete arses and it really did take a toll on my attitude about everything. I hated humanity for a bit there. The phone and the internet make people think they can say whatever they want. My only advantage was that I was in the position to decide whether the person on the other end was worth keeping as a customer or not. I didn't have to kiss butt to maintain the relationship.

When I was younger I worked at Lowe's as a manager and I had a customer try to go over the counter at me over something completely ridiculous. Something about the price or what not and I said I had to go check on our shelves... I'll never forget it. I honestly think he may have been under the influence of something. I gave him the price and a discount, he was not happy when other customers came to my defense plus escorted him to his truck.
