Okay. I went to Earth First, the garden and rock place. The guy there showed me the garden mix. It's exactly what I got. But let me tell you. I must be a garden dirt snob but that is some poor looking $hit. So they have this really black compost -divine, so my hubs is going back to get me a yard.

I had beautiful dirt in my NY garden. It was the natural dirt and mixed with composted horse manure that smelled so earthy and was black. In Florida I had given up . I lived on beach sand and went to the stable my horse was at and used to bring home truck loads of manure pile. Mixing that 50/50 with the dirt , well the surrounding sand would suck it dry anyway. And I never had any luck. So I quit trying.

Here I am in Kentuckiana and it's all grass and pastures. I guess those love living in clay. Must like really poor drainage. Can't wait for my compost! I'll mix my own.

Yeah, idk. It definitely doesn’t look the best for sure and that last pic it looks pretty weird!! But I just know sometimes my diet gets really dry and cracked and stuff too and then when it’s wet it’s a pretty good color and stuff grows and everything. So I guess I was thinking of mine where when wet it’s okay. But yours does look like it’s got some weird stuff in it too. Ours is the clay type soil too but also somewhat sandy too. I think adding compost is a good idea. It fixes everything! 😂 but you shouldn’t have to buy compost to fix it if you paid for the other stuff. :( it is weird they would try to sell inferior products though. :/
