Wow! So Sorry! So beautiful!
It’s the Scariest thing! Seeing them sick and not know what to do. Im getting ready to bring my 2 home from the barn and that is my worst nightmare. We do hunter jumper.

We have self quarantined for about 3 weeks like seriously have not left the house. So we have been able to get the barn built and stuff to bring them home. Im excited but so worried at the same time.

I’m sorry for your loss -you can hear how you loved the big lug🤗 Waving as he crosses the rainbow bridge.

Warm regards,
Luv geese

I will never, ever board my horses again! I am so OCD about them, nobody takes care of them like I do. My parents were trainers so I grew up with horses being at home. I too am a trainer. When we first moved to Az I took them to a ranch I was training out of and I was ready to kill before the first week was over. They didn't feed until 9am fed dinner at 4, sometimes cleaned stalls, sometimes would water them. I ended up going at 6am to feed, scrub water buckets and clean my horses stalls so I could at least start working them by 8am. That didn't last long. I picked up lock, stock & barrel. Built a barn at home and that was the end of that!

The best advice I can give you about having them at home is to learn their normal behavior patterns so if something is up you will know right away. Listen to your gut, don't doubt yourself. Having them at home is a blessing, it is a lot of work but so worth it in the long run.

Yes I adored that spotted baboon. Never been a fan of spotted ones. They tend to loose brain cells and replace them with spots. We used to tease Flash that he was using his spotted brain on days he was being a fruit cake. Wouldn't trade one moment I had with him, he was honestly one of a kind. :love

Thank you, he was pretty special for a spotted baboon.

The only reason I have room for a workout room is that we have too much room now that the kids have all moved out. I tried to talk hubby into letting me turn a couple of rooms into box stalls for the old ones but he threatened divorce if I brought one damn horse into the house. RUDE :lau

My now XH brought the horses into the house for brief visits when they were babies, lol, I loved it. As they grew up they learned to let themselves in. 😆 It doesn't take much Arabian to fill up a living room! They were very well behaved. Never nibbled the house plants or stuck their heads in the ceiling fan. I always figured it was in their DNA, their ancestors living in tents during sand storms, you know. Oh man, I miss them.

Edit: changed lived to loved. Sigh, I keep doing that!

I'm going to go fry up some bacon, go check on the chickens, and then pray for KDOG's poor chicken "RED" :hit :th

Oh baby you and me both!!!! Got to check on my bacon supply.

Ya know, I go to a radiology appt where I can't eat or drink beforehand. So I'm going there Without my cuppa joe, and perhaps a bagel. One hour drive. Well I get out of my appt and NOTHING is open! Except McDonald's drive thru which has 6 cars waiting . It's 3pm. OMG I have to drive all the way home for food!

And to anyone who uses a glucometer, they took my blood sugar and it's 126 on a completely empty stomach. My first thought is 'when's the last time they calibrated this machine"? I just don't really believe it. But I will get another. It would be highly unlikely that I would have a bs of 126. Unless it's from one of the 7 meds I take. Sheesh!

I just want to remind everybody that some people may find some the content regarding meat consumption in particular (it's the pictures) may upset some of those who view the site.

I grew up with Arabs, my parents bred, trained & showed them. I snuck more Arabs into the house than I care to admit. If I had ever been caught my butt would have been blistered good!
:D
I had a welsh Arab pony that I rescued in 99, he was always trying to come inside the house. When he retired we let him wander the property. He tried following the dogs in on numerous occasions. He would walk right into the tackroom like the owned the joint. Miss that wee bugger! Lost him at 45 in 2018.
I can't imagine not having a horse. I've had them my entire life and refuse to be horseless. I will be that crazy 90 year old lady out feeding her herd every day.

That was my hope, too. But I believe I will have horses again someday. This is not good horse country, IMO. If I had horses, I would not enjoy them like I did in NM. For now, my sweet memories suffice.
