As someone who doesn't claim a "side" it's easy to see that politics are being slung from both sides equally, however subtle. Or not.

Why are you talking to me? Address the one who started it. This is the way it always goes. She or another starts it, then I counter to provide some balance, people get on my case, and then the mods come in and start deleting posts. Just quit it OK?

As do I, and I make sure to digest info from a variety of sources, however I don't find the jabs going on in this thread to be beneficial. Each side thinks they are in the right and therefore their "jabs" are harmless or ok.
Not all readers or people out there see things through a political lens so the jabs are obvious and unnecessary.

I'm just ignoring it and trying to find out how peeps are on BYC. It's been going on for days and many have left this thread because of it. Even certain messages have been deleted and still... Nothing has stopped it.

How are you doing through all of this?

I've been giving them away. I'm not charging because people need them and I feel fortunate to provide them. I'd rather bless them and not get anything in return since this is a time of need.

It's so nice to hear that . I'm trying to figure out the best way to help out right now; it's hard to know that in even non-crazy times. I don't like knowing people are struggling and feeling so impotent. I wish I had double the chickens I have so that I had more eggs to give. Right now it's just enough for friends/family.

Is anybody concerned about long-term food shortages? Is there any evidence that might be a problem in the future? My local HEB hasn't had eggs the last 3 times I've been. This is a really dark way for me to justify getting more chickens so I'll have eggs to give away in 5-6 months...

It is a real question though. How concerned should we be about food supplies? The shelves are only empty now because people are trying to stock up to prepare in case of quarantine, right?

We have 16 some at POL some hens and 1 rooster. Plus ducks are laying like crazy too so we are giving those out too.

Out of every 8 eggs we get every day, we are giving away 3 dozen a week.

We should get more layers. I think my husband is happy I actually have all these chickens especially right now.

We have 9 chicks, 3 ducklings, 7 bantam chicks, 15 ducklings and 11 chicks hatching soon. The ones hatching soon will be meat once they are able to grow big enough.

My husband's coworkers offered us elk and he's bringing it tomorrow I think.
