The reason the bill was held up was because one politician decided they needed to include a lot of other unrelated requests. Like 25 million to a museum, 25mil to the Kennedy center and money for PBS, and stopping production of oil in this country (the new green deal) and millions for other pet projects. The senate kept sending it back to ask the Congress to remove all that does not have to do with virus/people/ checks.

When they finally got a lot of unrelated stuff removed (not all) , it was okay'd. This was stated by Senators that would be or not signing the bill . Senators and Pres and other top politicians have been transparent with that they do or not do. It's a shame that this bill needed to be held up by removing all the non-covid19 that was added to this bill that was specifically for US and the economy r/t us. Do not think that one person is making these decisions. There is many people who have input into his daily briefings.

I ordered feed online from TSC, picked up at store an hour later. I didn't have to go in. I called from the parking lot, and they rolled it out, and loaded it for me. I signed the invoice outside. I was impressed.

Are the hatcheries by mail chicks out of chicks as well?

Our local Safeway is so far well stocked with meat produce and bakery items. Canned goods were pretty good the other day too. There was no flour, very little sugar and even the boxed cake mixes were sparse. Canned tuna was available but very little canned salmon. I didn’t go down the paper goods aisle but could see other things in there than tp and paper towels. Plenty of laundry detergent bar soaps and shampoo. Other than flour We haven’t had any trouble.

I didn’t think of that before :lau but it’s a good idea.

I’m hoping they can find homes though but I know it’s probably a bit naive or overly optimistic or whatever haha

That said so, if they get annoying enough, which they’re starting to, I might be willing to wring their little necks myself. :lau
I know what you mean KDOGG. I used to raise enough meat birds for our yearly needs at my old farm and would take them to a local Mennonite farm. They had an inspected facility set up just for butchering. It was well worth the $2 per chicken and $8 per turkey price tag to have them do it. And I knew my birds were treated well with human hands and no harsh chemicals were used.
First time I went though I bawled like a baby when I left my birds. It got easier in time.

Now I live where there are no places to take them. Remember, we have severe allergies here, but I've been able to make do with what safe stuff I can find locally, which was already super hard to find.
Now? Pfft. And for the foreseeable future? Double pfft....it's gonna be really hard to find safe meats. So, I've decided I'll need to put my big girl boots on and butcher myself. I know how, and I'm not squeamish at all, I just don't like to. I'm a ninny.

It was also held up for other reasons. For example, initially it was going to be a tax rebate, not a cut check. Also it was going to be based on income tax percentage, which meant people making a lot of money already were going to be making even MORE money from it. Now it's based on flat rates in reverse - if you make more than a certain amount in a year your amount goes down not up. And disabled people or people who were fired were going to get $0, which completely defeated the purpose.

It also included a $500 billion company bailout with no transparency. It was basically just a free pass for anyone to cut a check to any company for a huge sum of money without even telling us how it was spent or who was signing what to where.

Earmarks like the 25m to the kennedy center exist on every bill, and some of them still went through. They're a drop in the bucket which is why they get squeezed in. I don't think they're required but they're hardly the only reason it got shut down. It was just a bad bill in general in its first form.

This is a nightmare situation. Hopefully many people have a supportive board like we do. We are still joking around at times!
I recorded our chicken singing her egg song the other day and my husband put it on the walkie-talkie for his work and they were busting out laughing...

He said it was his job to make everybody laugh at least once a day during this time
