I touch my face WAY WAY too often! :(

I think there's a good balance between some people I talk to saying "It's not a big deal, I'm just going about my day as if nothing is different!" vs. "OMG! Buy up everything & freak-out!!!"

IMHO, a metered, calm, deliberate, mindful, and balanced response is good. It's definitely a bigger deal than the seasonal flu, but it's not 10,000 people walking around with Ebola.

The toilet-paper thing is odd... really really odd to me. I'm guessing that some people started stocking up, others saw them doing it, so they did the same, then it got on the news "stores are out of TP!"... then everyone watching the news thought (even subconsciously) "OMG! I didn't know I needed to stockpile TP, but everyone else is, and it's clearly not available, so I should go get some wherever I can... just in case! I don't want to be the only one without TP!!!"

Heck, I know it's silly, but I can feel my monkey-brain twitching a little and thinking, "Wait, should I be doing it too?!?!"

... then I remember: Oh ya, I have a bidet, and also lots of TP from a costco run a few months ago... so I'm solid!

BTW, I'm a HUGE convert and fan of bidets! I have gifted 10 for friends & family that are now also converts! They are super fast / easy install, and work GREAT! This isn't the exact one I got, but it's almost exactly the same and has almost 9,000 reviews!!!

"look at the ad I just got",,,,,,,The Intertubes know your every move lol :barnie

I don't think that's specifically what they said (unless I missed it). It's what I've picked in other places. Coronavirus seasonal outbreaks die off when the weather starts warming up.
Virals usually do break in peak when warmer weather but we don't know if this one does or not. Certainly hope so. My concern is that it will probably come back again this Fall. So along with regular flu season, my opinion is that Corona will be throwed in there as well. Hopefully with all the tests they are doing and noting antibodies in healed patients, they will be able to extract and use antibodies from blood plamas. Please support your local Red Cross and donate blood.:love

Those kinds of models are usually wrong. This thing will probably peak in about 2 weeks. Mortality will probably be the same as, or a little above, yearly normal. Way over-hyped.
The models for not intervening are quit accurate. Thats why most countries have restrictions to meet other people right now.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Brazil. They have a president that is really ******.

Japan's response was more sensible (little testing, no hard lockdown, isolate vulnerable) and they are not having a big problem.

IT is getting worse, please stay home!! You're saving a lives! I would not listen to the current administration, he wants everything to go back to normal, WISHFUL THINKING . Milwaukee County is getting hit hard because the inner-city folks are gathering together, they're refusing to follow the shelter-in-place order. Milwaukee police are attempting to break up gatherings, however, deaths are starting to rise in Milwaukee. As @GinGia pointed out, this virus is here to stay as is all the different strains of "influenza". This virus also has different strains. It could be well into MAY before we see a decline of cases in the US. That's being optimistic!!! I had this past week off, going back to the trenches next week😷

It's appearing to get worse because they've ramped up testing dramatically.
