My male dog used to eat so fast that he'd end up vomiting... it was so bad. He was very underweight: the shelter records said he was 47 lbs on intake, he's 65 lbs now. So I got him this rubbery treat dispenser ball and made him roll it around for his meals, and he'd still manage to finish eating in about 3 minutes (he learned to nudge, eat, nudge, eat). He's slowed down now (aka 30 seconds instead of 5 seconds) so he gets to eat out of a regular bowl now.

I do training with breakfast for all the dogs, from smallest to largest. I try to just give them a mix of commands, about a minute or so per dog, then they can eat.

Never could get any dog interested in a Kong. Probably because I refuse to put food in them lol.
Oh wow that’s fast!! Haha I think some dogs are just programmed to eat fast 😂🤣

And I think that’s a good way to do it!! Especially just one meal like that then one normal or whatever. I’ve done the same. Used to make Gator sit and wait or sometimes do some tricks first lol. But I know seem people, mostly ones with working dogs like Mals, BC, etc., that do full on training sessions and/or hand feed meals. Supposedly it helps them be more engaged but idk haha

I guess you’d almost have to with a dog like that though given how smart and driven they are 😂🤣 they never stop 😂

And yeah probably LOL think they’re mostly for putting food in and crate/boredom busters 😂🤣

I used to fill mine too much lol only did it like once or twice before I realized how stupid it was. Think he got sick from it or else just fat 😂 cause he used to have the huge one cause he was such a big dog and I would literally fill the thing to the brim 😂🤣 stuffed with all sorts of carp. Peanut butter, kibble, treats, I think I did yogurt once. Froze it once or twice and gave it not frozen too. Not frozen made a huge mess lol well, they all did. But given the size of those XL ones, that was a LOT of treats/food all at once 😂🤣🙈💩

@FortCluck this is for you. I know you are very much in the high-risk group. Would you, or do you, let anyone in your house, that is not already a member of your immediate family? If so, under what circumstances would you allow that? I ask because this sales rep wants to come over tomorrow to talk to us about Medicare and my brain is screaming no no no! And also, DD has a very dear friend that lives two states over that has asked if she can come and I am having the same reaction. I am not as high risk as you, but I AM, enough to where I am concerned. What would you do?
I would make them stay outside your home. I had a home nurse and I made her check me outside my home on the screened porch or on the deck. She thought I was the best patient ever for doing this. The only people that walk into my house are people who live here. When friends come over we stay outside with them and keep our distance.

I would not let anyone stay here even if they were family from another state. I am very cautious with everything at this point. I don't even let people pet my dog.

I had a hard time the other day when the mechanic when into my car to change the oil, but i sanitized everything after he was done.

Thanks. Sometimes I feel like I'm being paranoid for wanting to be so careful. But the numbers of people getting infected is already going up in places where people aren't being careful any more.

Pet fur will carry the virus for some time, as on other surfaces, and I agree with keeping pets away from casual contacts with other folks or their pets.

Thanks, that's really good to know. I hadn't heard that but so far it hasn't been a problem. You guys are really helping me.

I am still being super careful. When I was at my parents their hot water heater pilot went out and the guy before he even walked in said that he wasn't wearing a mask if that was okay with my father. He told me to go inside, so I did. He was just in the garage. Then my dad sanitized the garage before I came back out when he left.

My family is being super cautious too. We are supposed to go on a family vacation in august and I am going to be staying at the house we rented, but not eating out. I will order delivery every night if I have to. I am going there for family time nothing else.

Thats why my dog stays in the car when we go somewhere with her. We get drive thru when we have her because she likes to order food at the drive thru :lau I have had her since I got sick. She will stay in bed with me all day and not make a peep when I am really sick. Best dog ever. She has travelled 10+ hours in the car one way and loved it.

No, no, and no way! I only have asthma and there is no way anyone is getting into my house, period. And other than delivery people no one is even getting on my porch!
Today when I went down to the mail box my good neighbor came over to chat and I still took 2 giant steps back and stayed 10' away. Normally I hug this neighbor and his wife, but not right now.

I'll be in the same boat, at some point. I plan to keep my flip phone for as long as possible ... I'm really likin' the $35 monthly payment!
After moving here I put off getting another phone until the one I had died. It was a smart phone but was a Motorola and about 8 years old. Anyway, because I waited Straight talk had switched carriers (which was a good thing because I'm in mountain ridges) so I bought a basic smart phone for $70 and pay only $35 month now. No contract anymore either.
My Galaxy works as well as any fancy newer phone and uses Android which I prefer over iphones.

Would putting black plastic close enough to absorb heat work? I'm just reaching, here, as I've not really dealt with this situation ... just thinking about black being heat absorbent and possibly radiating it back ... or at least keeping the ground warmer beneath the plants.
Oh - and I'm thinkin' we need to see some pictures of these beauties! They don't have to be current ... just pics that show off your babies in all their glory!
... please ...?
She's just coming into flush, plus when I bought this place there was zero landscaping. Not a bush, shrub, or twig to be found, and zero flower beds or veggie area, so it's a work in progress. Most of the smaller roses have only been in for a year, but the climbers are going on 2 years old.

I LOVE going to Lowes down in the city, which have huge garden centers compared to my local one, and I get lots and lots of the $1 clearance orphans off the orphan racks.
Some things I brought with me when I moved, like my 2 Zephys, and some are local plants. Things are just now starting to come together in a shabby chic rustic cottage kind of way....**cough** ... sloppy gardener....**cough**.....but I'll see what pics I can find. :)
