Coronavirus, Covid 19 Discussion and How It Has Affected Your Daily Life Chat Thread

Due to the impending affects of COVID19 on the economy;

My suggestion is to buy an extra few items every week and once in a while make bulk purchases. Toilet Paper, Paper Towells, Canned Food, most Non-Perishables, Ammo, Medicine and First Aid items, Cleaning Products. We "Can" much of the food that we produce and our goal is to have at least a year's worth of consummable items. Ammo being the exception! Wink Wink!

We've lived a lifestyle aimed at self sufficiency for a number of years and having a fully producing garden and acreage has been a huge relief. BEING totally self-sufficient is a lofty goal that we may never achieve but its the journey that matters.

Good luck to all and I will be glad to offer any advice to those wishing to be better prepared.

I think another upcoming hurdle is going to be the start of schools. Hopefully the ones that plan on having in person schooling, in whatever manner the district chooses, have everything in place for it to succeed.
I agree.
Our district is going back 100% distance learning. I am nervous.
I heard some districts will allow teachers to use the classrooms but I haven't heard anything from our district.

Things are still up in the air here even though school is scheduled to begin in a few weeks. Some are pushing for delays, others that were slated for the alternating days schedule are now trying to go all online, and nobody has any idea how bussing might go because even when things are good the district is always short staffed. We are going to try the all virtual option but there are plenty of snags with that too.
Schools can barely keep lice contained, nevermind an airborne virus. It's going to be a mess.
I know, right?
