Luckily we have snow shovels/plows. Living in the snow belt this is nothing new. The plows have already hit once, so the roads are slick but drivable and our driveway is half done. I went out and played with the dogs while G shoveled for a little bit. They had a BLAST. They love the snow.

21°F here, but no snow. Clear, bright and sunny. At the moment, no rain or wind either, hooray! Blessings most grateful for: we have survived! A vaccine is on the horizon. The closeness of family, and the warmth of friends. Thank you, BYC! You've helped to keep me sane.

It makes me so mad when people pretend this is not real and not dangerous. We have a general contractor in our house right now -- a nice man but he thinks it's all hysteria and it makes me furious. It's partly because my daughter has had to deal with the pain and death and danger 5 days a week for about 11 months this year but equally because anyone who denies it totally dismisses and disrespects the 300K-and-counting lives already lost and families already broken.

This is a well established story dude. They've been at this going on about a year IIRC. It's one of those planned endeavours that seemed to of been "green lighted" before the pandemic hit.

You can scroll back and see the updates on the cutting and the pics of the "definitely needed" framing repairs that were needed as well. It's been a fascinating struggle for them. As I to have dealt with contractors over the summer. Roof replacement and then exterior repair & painting while I did alot of interior stuff.
Shoot, Nifty-chicken & I traded banter and pics of both our interior redoing over the summer and into the early fall.
