H1n1 swine flu was not dissimilar and it was barely discussed by the media. I don’t remember such over reach. Even when it was novel and pretty infectious.

H1N1 outbreak caused 13K deaths in the same time frame (one year) in the USA that COVID19 caused 500K. And that was after it had been circulating elsewhere in the world for almost a year.

And, again, it's not overreach. It's a normal pandemic response with hundreds of years of legal history.

it is a fact that this pandemic will only go away when we reach herd immunity. That is done by time and vaccination. The reason to wear masks was to flatten the "curve" so hospitals were not over run. Hospitals are not over run. If they are its news as no make shift hospital have been ordered. As a matter of fact they were all dismantled as this flu never got to that point. If hospitals are not over run, your not going to stop this bug and the sooner it spreads the sooner we reach herd immunity... There is no need to be wearing the masks now is there? if im sick ill put a mask on if i go somewhere but why would i go out sick. I can spread it as i don't know i'm sick? That i call false and there is no proof to back it up. Belief by some that i can is not proof and i know of no one claiming proof of it. so much of this is political and truth has gone out the window. You can test positive for trace amounts of all kinds of things but at levels that can not get you or anyone else sick. That a know fact by the CDC and any doctor. Same protocols for any flu season. I do not go elbow to elbow in time in flu season anyway. Another protocol that is know well by the CDC and doctors is less than 15 min exposer indoors is low risk anyway. AKA a store.
