Hi. I'm in England and been on furlough since Christmas Eve, and twice before that. I lost three of my girls consequetively in August/September and now my last/fourth one is currently in hospital due to water retention. I don't know how I would have coped without her. I had mid-morning coffee with her and sat a while with her before she roosted. As we are both on our own I think we have helped each other. I put a mirror in with her which she spends a lot of time at, and a cuddly toy is in the nest box for night company. Yes she is spoilt, but worth it.

I hope she is well soon. 💚

Not to be macabre but driving by only shows they were there, not that they were in use. I don’t believe the extra trucks for makeshift morgues were used many places at all. And I am not one that thinks this isnt a real sickness. I am one that thinks bureaucrats and politicians will never let a good crisis go to waste.
So you think the hospitals and morgues paid to rent refrigerated trailers for show?

Saw or you were shown?

So far nothing of the sort here in Southern Oregon.
I have been thinking about what you said. One reason you haven't seen anything like that is because Oregon is not a very densely populated state. There are more than twice as many people in Los Angeles County (not the city) alone than there are in the whole state of Oregon. According to google, there are about 4 million people in Oregon but there are something like 10 million people living in Los Angeles County. I think the state of Oregon is about 466 million square miles, and there are roughly 4,000 square miles in Los Angeles County. As a matter of fact, there are almost as many people in the city of Los Angeles as there are in Oregon. There are just under 4 million people in the city of Los Angeles and just over 4 million in all of Oregon.

I would think that in order to compare apples to apples, one would need hospitals per person. We probably don't have the amount of hospitals in the state that LA county has either.

No. But I do have a cousin who works as the charge nurse in the pediatric ICU in a hospital in Portland. At the height of the epidemic she was being run ragged caring for young people sick with COVID. I don't know if she lost any but she said her unit was filled to capacity. I haven't talked to her lately so I have no idea what the situation is now.

I thought young people didn’t get it.
