Buddy of mine is a nurse sent home for positive on quick test. Tested negative after .
Guess I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens.
Pretty bull crap that even though I have good health ins I had to pay $65 for nothing but according to DD the other test through a doctors office or emergency room cost $200, she's had to have a few tests for work. Where I work if they told me I had to get tested they would have paid for it but I did this one on my own cause I wanted to know.
Maybe I don't know, maybe I already have it, maybe not...

The not being sure sucks. I was there too when I had my 2 "negative" tests but was sick...

The studies I read (while stuck sick in bed) said most people stop being contagious by the 9th or 10th day of symptoms. So if you can pinpoint the day you started your "cold," you could count 9 or 10 days then assume you're clear in case that was your covid experience. My husband basically sniffled for one day when he caught it. Lucky dog.

I would rather work, but they said no don't want me. I'm guaranteed 40hrs union contract so full pay to stay home but I'd rather work if I could. Hoping this blows over no biggie. Dang I hope so.

Oops, I'd misunderstood. I thought you were saying they told you to come in regardless.

Maybe tackle some yard work so you still feel productive? Or if there's anything you could do from home (computer work, phone calls, etc), you could offer to do it.

My covid hit me like a brick wall...I had maybe a day of feeling "off" like maybe allergies and then BAM - nausea, fatigue, fever, body aches, etc. Then came the loss of smell and taste and coughing. Ugh. So hopefully your few days of cold symptoms means you got the version of covid my husband got, and you're just forced to take some chill time at home, and you've avoided my "super-flu" version.

You have a wise employer Beer can. Its stupid allowing the risk that a sick person has Covid, is coming to work and infects more employees. Covid has a snowball effect.

A dear friend of my son got sick at a small dinner party from someone that had no symptoms at that very moment. After a couple of days she (and the others) got a warning and got sick. But she already gave it to her brother before she knew she had Covid. And the brother infected the parents who are both sick now.

My household got our first doses of Moderna last week. All had minor symptoms (sore arm, a little tired, a little headachey) but nothing too bad and it went away after a day or two. Hoping second shot goes as smoothly as the first! So far it was less annoying than the last flu shot I got. That one laid me up for a full day in a hot bath.

It's really scary how many places are using those quick tests when they are inaccurate,
just like taking temps.

A positive test is a positive, and a negative test is a maybe.
This is true of many tests, it's the nature of the how they work. And sometimes the best that can be done.

Those re-infections represent a .01% infection rate after vaccine; which is significantly *better* than the documented 95% efficacy rate for the vaccines. Also, while the majority of the population develops full immunity within 14 days after the second dose, health leaders say that a small proportion appear to take longer.

It's very sad that some passed away. They were all over 65 and died within a few weeks of being vaccinated.
