Because I am a very healthy individual, to chose to put an experimental therapy in my body that is less effective than my own immune system and could potentially be ineffective or cause my death would be extremely foolish on my part. If I do get covid I will get over it and have better immunity so the choice for me is crystal clear as it is with many other Healthcare workers who are choosing as I have.

Says the individual who sees herself just as an individual rather than as a part of a team working for the greater good....

It makes me sad that there are so many people who don’t care 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😷 or don’t believe this Covid is a very nasty disease.
It’s just an empathy issue. Many people are unable to put themselves in others shoes or view life from a different lens. If they are not at risk then they aren’t afraid and don’t care about the risk other people may face. As an <25 person I see this primarily with my own age group but this is definitely not a mindset limited just to the young folks, unfortunately.

I hope that all of you who want the vaccine will be able to get it as soon as possible. Those that don’t want it, well, good luck to you.

If you are not infected last year:
You’re immune system isn’t working against Covid because you never had it before. Most young and healthy people can attack this virus in a effective way and then they build up their immune systems against Covid.

The purpose of the vaccinations is to build up you’re immune system. And by getting 2 shots the meds hope* you have a lifetime protection. Same as with measles, smallpox, polio and rubella.

*But it might be that with the mutations elderly need a vaccination every year as with the flew.

Choosing to get covid to build natural immunity is one way to go about it; just be aware covid has unique long-term impacts on organs including heart and brain. There are "long-haul" covid cases, too (which we don't see with other viruses like flu). So, the risk is not insignificant.

Natural immunity and immunity from vaccines look the same to our bodies for the most part. Natural immunity may last longer; it's not known for sure; more study is neeeded.

And, of course, catching covid is not without risk to others; especially if one's individual case turns out to be of the asymptomatic kind.

They are already reporting the vaccines immunity is probably short lived

There are also millions who have gotten covid, got over it and are just fine. There are 2 sides to this story and we need to start telling the positive side so people have hope because there are many more survivors than sick and dying.
