still have the brain fog, where I am constantly forgetting what I was doing or struggling to find the words I want to say. It all really sucks.
Me too. And yes it does. And the fatigue! I'll wake up wanting to do something and then have to sit down and and just feel the energy drain out. I sit down and fall asleep, wake up and still feel drained. Will it ever go away?

I had Covid back in Dec. I still have long covid or the new name for it is Post-acute sequelae SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC). I still lose my taste and smell randomly. One day I can taste and smell everything and the next nothing. It's very frustrating. I also developed heart problems that I now have to take medication for. I am so sorry. I hope you better soon.

Yes, I sure hope this long Covid or PASC wil go away one of these days for everyone. Obvious that Covid is not a flew and should be taken more serious by young people saying they don’t need a vaccine because they have a great immune system.

On the news: In France, health workers are required to be vaccinated. If they don't, they will be fired.

And this was on the news about Moderna (source Volkskrant.nl)
Pharmaceutical Moderna puts billions in profits and patents in tax havens
The American pharmaceutical company Moderna has set up a tax structure to place the billions it receives for its corona vaccine in tax haven Switzerland. The patents on the vaccine, which were developed with the help of universities and government grants, have been placed in another tax haven: the US state of Delaware.

In this way, the company pays a very low corporate tax rate and the royalties that Moderna receives from subsidiaries in America are untaxed. This is apparent from research by the Foundation for Research on Multinational Enterprises (SOMO).

Got my second poke yesterday. I'm feeling pretty crappy today. Didn't sleep good last night. Either I was burning up or trembling with the chills under several blankets. I sure hope I get over this fast. But seeing as my county has the highest number of people per 100,000 people with the delta variant I'm glad I got it over with.

Why does a scientific study of children wearing masks that shows detrimental effects not concern people? Why does scientific studies that show children getting the vaccine have a much greater response of heart and brain problems not concern people? Children that have been scientifically proven to be less susceptible to covid?
Because that mask study was very badly executed. JAMA finally retracted it. I would have shit-canned it if I had been a reviewer. A single data point in some instances, six at best? They used a CO2 threshhold that would have required a month or more of 8+ hour exposures to have any measurable ill effect, and claimed hypercapnia (elevated CO2 blood levels) in subjects when they did no blood-draws. FOH.

Edit to Add: My anger is not directed at any posters on here. There is so much new info coming out all the time about CoVID that it is hard to keep up with how new info lines up (or changes) previous knowledge about the virus itself, how it works in individual patients, and how the pandemic itself is continuing to unfold. JAMA is extremely well-regarded in medical and scientific fields, and I was just absolutely shocked at how the manucscript 1.) made it to the journal, 2.) made it past the reviewers, and 3.) got the green light for publication by the editors. It's a pretty bad gaffe, and will (further) erode confidence in science and its review process. :(

Here in the Netherlands they interviewed a large group of young people (under 30) who did get Covid but were not hospitalised. They often had mild symptoms. Sometimes the symptoms get worse after a few weeks.
25% of the younger stil have health problems after 3 months. Fatigue, headaches, (partly) loss of tast or scent.
They call it Long Covid.

What do they say/write about Long Covid in the US / other countries?
dictionary.com has added 'long hauler' to their lexicon!
