Because that mask study was very badly executed. JAMA finally retracted it. I would have shit-canned it if I had been a reviewer. A single data point in some instances, six at best? They used a CO2 threshhold that would have required a month or more of 8+ hour exposures to have any measurable ill effect, and claimed hypercapnia (elevated CO2 blood levels) in subjects when they did no blood-draws. FOH.

Edit to Add: My anger is not directed at any posters on here. There is so much new info coming out all the time about CoVID that it is hard to keep up with how new info lines up (or changes) previous knowledge about the virus itself, how it works in individual patients, and how the pandemic itself is continuing to unfold. JAMA is extremely well-regarded in medical and scientific fields, and I was just absolutely shocked at how the manucscript 1.) made it to the journal, 2.) made it past the reviewers, and 3.) got the green light for publication by the editors. It's a pretty bad gaffe, and will (further) erode confidence in science and its review process. :(
No reason to be angry Lol. We continue to be lied to. We continue to be fed misinformation since the beginning of covid. Our Govt censors any any opinion they don't want out there. Govt flagging social media , to now watching our text messages. I really didn't think our Govt could interfere with our personal text messages but now have admitted it.
Our Govt does not back the covid vaccine, not FDA approved but still pushes it and now has said going door to door to question if you got it.
Our Govt banned anyone suing over side effects of the vaccine

"The federal government has granted companies like Pfizer and Moderna immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong with their vaccines."
"It is very rare for a blanket immunity law to be passed," "Pharmaceutical companies typically aren't offered much liability protection under the law."
"You also can't sue the Food and Drug Administration for authorizing a vaccine for emergency use, nor can you hold your employer accountable if they mandate inoculation as a condition of employment."

Yes, I sure hope this long Covid or PASC wil go away one of these days for everyone. Obvious that Covid is not a flew and should be taken more serious by young people saying they don’t need a vaccine because they have a great immune system.

On the news: In France, health workers are required to be vaccinated. If they don't, they will be fired.

And this was on the news about Moderna (source Volkskrant.nl)
Pharmaceutical Moderna puts billions in profits and patents in tax havens
The American pharmaceutical company Moderna has set up a tax structure to place the billions it receives for its corona vaccine in tax haven Switzerland. The patents on the vaccine, which were developed with the help of universities and government grants, have been placed in another tax haven: the US state of Delaware.

In this way, the company pays a very low corporate tax rate and the royalties that Moderna receives from subsidiaries in America are untaxed. This is apparent from research by the Foundation for Research on Multinational Enterprises (SOMO).
Because our Govt gets paid by big Pharma, big Pharma gets paid by our Govt, it's a symbiotic relationship. Politicians here get million$ in donations and free tv advertising for elections in return big Pharma gets billion$ in kickbacks.

A lot of people are concerned about the timeline for the vaccine, too fast.
Really doesn't concern me the 'quickness'. IMHO they could have been a little quicker. Why not? This day in age I would have been OK if they came out with it the next day not eight months later. It's a pandemic people are dying next day vaccine OK.
What concerns me is the fact that the technology of the vaccine has never been licensed for use. First time in history this technology has been implemented on a large scale.
I'm a optimist, really hoping good things with it. If Pfizer and Moderna make Billion$ I don't care, this technology if it works has great potential to be used to end cancer. Could finally be a breakthrough on cancer research.

Same as the entire internet and this website
Some news sites/ websites are more thrust worthy than other news sites / websites.
I read mostly news on established (preferably independent) newspaper-sites. They do make a mistake every now and then. But are way more thrust worthy than sites like brighteon.

I would hope this new technology would buy a end to many cancer and infectious diseases.

Hope so, possibilty is there. Kinda feel like maybe we're moving towards a Star Trek type use a device scan, diagnos, fix. I don't mind being part of the experiment. Just took a foriegn country manufactured virus pandemic possible bio weapon released on purpose maybe on accident we may never know, to put the world's medical field on hyperdrive.
Could you imagine if cancer was given the priority that covid has? Could have done better yrs ago. Priorities.
Like I said, I'm a optimist, reading up on RNA technology I really hope this large scale experimental vaccine has greater potential than just covid.
