We just looked it up because of trying to see my son's fiance. The latest change was Dec 6 changing arriving international flights to needed a negative test within 1 day of the flight except the countries with bans. This is a change from needing a negative test within 72 hours of flight. This is for unvaccinated US citizens only. Non US citizens are required to be fully vaccinated to fly into the US.

Rules for departing flights depend on the destination country.
Does it say the type of test required? Like can it be an at home test? Update from the news: the one case of omicron found in chicago was from a woman who was fully vaccinated and had her booster as well. Given to her by an out of state visitor.

Yes, it specifies the types of tests that required.
CDC says a self administered test is acceptable under some conditions - has to be done while a telehealth professional watches via video and audio then issue a report and a few other conditions.

And I was wrong, the one day negative test is required of vaccinated people also.

Two sides to every story. Just depends what side you're on. :idunno
One can go deeper. Hours enclosed in close proximity to other people increases the risk of getting covid. On the other hand, the vaccinations don't stop people from getting infected or decrease the risk of giving it if you have it.... its becoming clear it isn't a just a few break through cases.

Jeez. Sounds almost like a drug test. Strange times we live in now. I look forward to a day I can look back on all of this as just 2 really crappy years of my life

that was never the goal of the vaccines. they greatly reduce symptom strength and the risk of hospitalization and death.

expecting them to do something they weren’t designed for will always lead to disappointment. that’s one big part of the vaccine debate that’s been raging on.
