Interesting. I feel like every blood test I've ever taken the tube already had a sticker on it. I always wondered if they get samples mixed up from time to time

Not where I go. Double check because it is do easy yo samples mixed up like. You label the tube then if you can’t get blood they go back in the tray. Guess it would happen more when you go from bed to bed in the hospital esp at 5 am in the morning.

So instead of just sitting there like a victim I should ask them what the label is and all that? I've never been able to look when they draw blood so I've never thought to ask. It turns my stomach looking at how quickly the vile fills up. Makes me think I'm going to bleed to death when they remove the needle

I’ve never been able to look. I must have been 10-12ish, I had mono and I looked at the **bag** of blood they were drawing and almost passed out. Shaking, crying hysterically, whole 9 yards. Poor doc was terrified!

I had to get blood drawn recently and I let the nurse know I had a little phobia so I wouldn’t be looking at it. Bless her heart, she was trying to distract and comfort me the whole time! At one point she goes “Oh would you LOOK at those eyelashes on her?!” and called like 3 other nurses over just because I was getting panicky. Love the docs at Oschner here

I always ask how many vials they're taking and count any shifts they do. That way I know without mentioning it. In the ER though they don't tell you how many vials. When I went it must have been about 9.

Avian flu is not some kind of Covid. And its among us (in Asia and Eu) for a long time. There are many variations and changes every year just like the flu.
The Avian flu of this year is very contagious and deadly. Not only poultry gets it but waterbirds and big like cranes, storks, herons get it too.

Make sure it's your name (sticker) is on the label and there aren't anyone else's around you should be fine.
Blood always looks like much more than it is. Those vials only hold about a teaspoon.

If that happened to me I'd be using a sharpie on myself Everytime I had surgery. Write on one leg do not cut and the other cut ok.

People do that. But the Surgeon should do it before while 'getting consent'. This is the time to ask questions and make sure you understand.
Remember that with every procedure, there is a CHANCE of infection or even death. (There was a Chance of that on the drive to the hospital.) They have to say that so don't panic.
