Correct dosing of Tylan soluble powder per gallon

Yes. Tylosin powder is 1 tsp per gallon. At that dosage each bird will drink the proper dosage for their weight and size. Give it for 3-5 days.
Thank you. This has to be what I need. I've tried everything else for sneezing, lose of voice, trouble breathing & no weight gain. 😫 on my almost 2yr old. Now I have another sneezer & one black spot one 3 combs, one resloved.

You can always start a new thread of your own on the emergency forum, and you would get more attention, since this thread is 14 years old. Just fill in the blanks and post here:

The dosage is 1 teaspoon to a gallon of water or 1/2 teaspoon to 1/2 gallon of water for a small flock. Make fresh solution every 3 days as per Tylan, (though I give mine a gallon at a time, check it often, and fresh every day) and make sure this is the only source of water they have. Use for 7 to 14 days. Some folks say up to three weeks, because MG is really tough to get rid of! Clean and santitize your coop, or you'll be doing this all over again in a month.

Remember that your chickens will be asymptomatic, but carriers, forever. That means you'll probably have to dose any new chickens coming in to your flock.

Such a bummer....our beautiful Dooz are snotty and coughing. What a learning curve, and what a wonderful site this is....from one Crazy Chicken lady to another, good luck!!!!

Oh, and BTW, the 800 number on the Tylan bottle is a good idea, too. I'm not a vet, but I did consult one. They've been known to be wrong, so check with yours or call the company....update this post if you find out something different!

Blessings!

That can't be right. I have Tylosin 100gm pk that that says treats chickens x1. I'm doing 1tsp per gallon of water for 5 days now and it's doing nothing. Tylosin page says 250mg per liter or 50mg per kg. I'm desperately looking for the dose per tsp(mg) to treat my flock.

Nope. I have tylosin 100gm & 1tsp is not correct. The pk says 100gm treats chickens x1. So it must be way more. I need 50mg/kg but the pouch doesn't give mg per tsp. Day 5 and no results from Jedds
