So as some of know a few months back i bought chicks that were very sick and needed to be treated asap. I took all the measures i needed and treated them and disinfected the coop on a daily basis and they recieved the intial 7 days at full strength and 12 more at half. Everyone has been off the medicine for a few weeks now or so and are doing great. I bought some new chicks today and i was wondering if i should treat them as a precautionary measurement since they will be sharing the same coop. Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?

Thank you in advance!

If the new chicks are in their first couple weeks of age, they can build a resistance to coccidia if fed medicated feed or a preventative dose of amprolium as this is the purpose of feeding medicated feed to chicks.

im not sure if they were fed that or not. I want to say they are defiently past the first couple of weeks which my first batch of chicks were 9 weeks old when i got them and they were already sick with it and on day 2 of having them they started pooping blood.

Giving a preventative dose would not be harmful to them. Here is a chart that gives Corid dosage for the preventative dose, to use on chicks where there has been an outbreak before:
