Try saying that three times fast.
I have 2 Cortunix quail who are about 2 months old. They are a male and a female. They're fully grown, and we started hearing a weird, rooster crowish-type of noise outside. We finally figured it out; the male was cawing.
It was getting slightly annoying. It sounded kind of like a mixture between a croak and a cocka-doodle-doo.
We went on vacation for a week, and when we came back, our pet-sitters had left a tiny, little egg in the fridge- our first quail egg!
It was unusually large for a quail egg, but still delicious and very small. Then, we noticed a that it was peacefully quiet around our house. Our male, Noname, had stopped cawing.
We think it could be that Curly, our female, layed her egg. But is this true? Could anyone please tell me why he stopped?
