Cortunix vs Button Quail

YES IF MEMORY SERVES ME CORRECTLY JOHNSON CITY IS FARTHER AWAY FROM HER THAN YOU ARE... I BELIEVE ITS NE CORNER OF TN??? UP NEAR HARROGATE AND BRISTOL?

I am like 30-45 min from Bristol. However if anyone has any extra hens they would like to send I will gladly adopt. The lady I was supposed to get them from didn't blossom. So I'm still searching for two females.

I have had somewhat the opposite experience with mine.My Jumbo Pharoahs are flighty.Flying out every chance they get and bopping around. My Italians are ok for the most part. They just kinda skoot outta my way.The A&M's just sit there...like uh ok... My buttons I got all the same time ,however some were only a couple weks old, some were almost at laying and several were lfrom the original breeder pen. They bopped around a bit on the way home, and were pretty flighty for the first week or so.Now they are all together colonized pairs and they love when I come in.I reach in and they are all over my hands.Loking for a treat.Don't get me wrong, still a few who get out any chance they get,but they don't haul butt too far.In the morning when they first hear me they all start running round beep beep boo-ing like maniacs...lol.

You're lucky. I had a button quail get out yesterday. She hauled rear all the way across the basement. Thankfully, she let me herd her back to an area where I could catch her without too much problem.

Lights on. Lights off. Catch quail. Toss in temp cage. Lights on. Clean cage. Lights off. Catch birds in the dark & return to cage. Lights on.

Repeat x 5 because that's all the button quail cages I could tolerate cleaning in a day with that routine!

Wow I've really not had that much problems since I got them home and they settled in fora couple weeks. They had a 3 hour ride home from a breeder who had them just in a big breeder pen with minimal contact. They acted a lil batty at first, but have calmed down.Occasionally something will spook one and it'll hit the top,but nothing major.I stick my hand in the cage and they all pile in looking to see what i got.

Mine have had contact since hatch & I'm not a spooky sort of person. Animals usually trust me at a level that is fairly unusual. Not my darlin' button quail. Still love 'em, though.

If I won the MegaBazillion dollar lottery, I'd design the ideal button quail villa for them.
