cost of having vet testing chicken samples

Quote:
I varies widely. I took a rooster to a vet about 5 years ago in Jacksonville,Fl. It cost me $100 to walk in the door...my mistake. I'm sure if I had testing sent out from there, it wouldve been cost prohibitive. I took a different rooster to my vet locally and was charged $10 for a fecal test, then $50 for a fresh sample sent off to be analyized at the University of Georgia vet school in Tifton,Ga.
From what I've read there are some states that will perform diagnostics for free. You'd have to contact your county extension agent or state agriculture department. I didnt call neither because of time constraints.
