Hello Selina, thank you for your reply. The three youngsters have turned out to be males, mainly white feathers, beautiful dove-grey flights and colouring on their backs, quite stunning when they stretch their wings, so I obviously do have a land-race weeder goose type here. They´re very dedicated grazers. I´d love to know how they arrived here, and I certainly wouldn´t cull them, it´s not a problem to me if they´re not the type you´re looking for. I just didn´t want to be quietly enjoying something that could be useful, especially as the gene pool is probably rather small. So, I´ll let them get on and make more little land-race types.....they´re a delight to have. I hope all goes well for you with your project.
If your gene pool is small, there's nothing wrong with breeding animals that aren't "perfect." You have to have enough animals and then you start culling. Just keep in mind what the breed should look like when you're ready to cull. And if you have enough, you WILL start culling. Trust me, when there are so many hungry mouths to feed that you find yourself buying nothing but feed and you can't remember the last time you bought something for yourself, you will cull. When that time comes, pick the ones with the orange bills :)

So cute! As the owner of Flip Flop Ranch, I love this lol. Definitely going to take flip flop pics with my goslings now :) Are these the ones you posted about the other day? How many made it? I just had 2 hatch from 3 eggs the first week of laying. Then my flock went crazy and I have around 100 eggs in the incubator now!!!! My 2 GQF incubators are so full of dorking and cotton patch eggs that I'm even manually turning eggs I have on the bottom hatching shelf and I still have eggs I can't fit in. Aghhh!

yes this is the 1 that I posted about the other day I posted the pictures of the flipflops because they originally came from your stock i think. I have 2 more still alive and due to
hatch in about another 2 weeks

I am very interested in the CPG. I am currently looking for some eggs to hatch out. I was also wondering what is the status of the CPG association. I don't know what help I could offer, but I am willing to do what I can to help bring back/preserve this lovely line of geese!
