cotton patch geese

These are her two surviving goslings, I think male, I´ve taken more photos of them today, they´re about 5/6 months old now, and as you´ll see, are very curious.....were puzzled as to why I had a black (camera) thing in my hand instead of the white thing that carries the goodies!! I´ll post the photos later.

Beautiful.

And here´s another of him with his family....his two wives and 3 sons, I believe, and a young lass there in the background who seems to have her eye on one of the lads.......they´re trying to work out why my camera isn´t coughing up food!

They are. People who pass along our lane slow down to look at them. Most folks around here are used to seeing the Chinese-type geese which make so much more noise and are far more aggressive. Sorry Chinese lovers, but around here that´s the case. Many people here won´t go into a place with geese because of their reputation, they´re catching on as guards, (one prison uses them, I believe.) but mine are just so docile and love to come for a chat even with visitors. (Not that I tell strangers that!) I did get a couple of large ganders, not a breed I could track down on the internet, here they call them ´ciso´, also sex-linked, but they were more inclined to squabble and weren´t so calm, so I didn´t keep them. I´m quite happy with these that I have now.

Wish I could see them in person. I love geese and all these different breeds fascinate me. Of course I don't see a trip to Brazil any time soon so I'll have to admire from afar.

I am kind of thinking you do not have pure CPG they should have pink feet and beaks. We have a pair here in WI.

This is a pair of cotton patch geese. Your females look like they could be CP but the ganders have a odd body shape. I think you have a mixed group. Also CP should have pink feet and beaks no orange!

They are very pretty though!
