So I just butchered my flocks, quite by accident and wierd circumstance I recieved a mix of about 50 Italians and Blonds that I raised beside some A&M's, the hatches were simultainious. I had planned to go only A&M but what the heck, there they were. So we did both. I must say I found the Italians, and the blonds to be just beautiful. And they turned out so visibly larger than my A&M's to the point that I had about made up my mind to drop the A&M's next year. But then as I said, today we dressed them out. To my utter astonishment the A&M's although they looked smaller dressed out heavier than the bigger looking birds. I can only guess that either the plumage lays closer, or the ratio of the breast and legs is somehow higher in the A&M's. I kept 5 of another donated flock of A&M's that look like monsters commpared to the purchased group we just slaughtered. I am now thinking they really might be worth feeding and housing through the summer, untill we start again in October.
