All 30 eggs hatched except one. I saw a peck on the eggs shell, but the chick died in the shell. Does anyone know what might be the cause? High humidity? Chick drowned? Thank you.

29/30 hatched...man that's a great hatch rate and I wouldn't waste time wondering why the one didn't hatch.
But to answer your ? It could have been many, many reasons why the one egg didn't hatch. Check the incubating section of the backyard chickens board. You will find detailed pictures & info on how to do eggtopsies that will answer your ?
