They are three weeks old now! Any idea on colors yet? And if not how old do they have to be, I'm super curious what I have 🥰 This is my first hatch and I was not expecting anything other than a 'normal brown' from these eggs that I picked up at a reptile expo!
I know I'm going to have to vent sex basically all of them too, so tips would be awesome! Also, how old do they need to be for that?

If this isn't the right place to post about this, where should I be? Super new here! 🙈

There are a lot of flavors of gray, but the most common will be silver from the schofield silver collection (SSC). Without knowing the history of the parents, it’s impossible to know which it is for sure. The SSC is incompletely dominant, and if you cross 2 silver birds, 1/4 of the offspring will be double silvers which make solid white birds, but they’re often weak and sickly, and many don’t even develop in the egg.

You will need to vent sex all of the tuxedos. Number 4 you should be able to feather sex, it’s a bit behind the others as far as feathering, but it looks like it will be a boy.

You can vent sex at about 5 weeks or so, some sooner some later, but they need to be getting 14+ hours of light. If the males get enough light, they will start producing foam, there will be a bulge behind their vent, almost like a scrotum, but more of a mound. If you gently press the bulge, thick foam almost like shaving cream will come out.

Thank you so much!
