Our coturnix are about 2 months old and we have yet to have eggs but this morning inside the koop one of the little girls was walking back and forth in front of the nesting boxes with her feathers all ruffled, quite agitated all by her self. I'm wondering what the normal behavior is for the first egg. I hope she's not sick. Thanks all

She might be having labor pains, lol.
Hope everything comes out ok

Are you far away from her when you're noticing her doing this? If so then sounds like she may be having trouble laying the egg but hopefully that isn't the case. Now, if you're right there withher when she poofs up and paces she's just doing that because you're scaring her. Coturnix poof up and parade like that hwen they are trying to look bigger than theya ctually are.

I'm keeping my distance and she's very tame. She seems to do it more when other birds approach her, I'll just keep checking in on her and hope for the best I guess.

She wasn't going outside to eat or drink and the other birds were harassing her so I brought her inside and she seems calmer but I could swear she keeps farting. It's weird. Please anyone with any info, it would really help. Thanks
