I raise both. Bob's are flighty & easily spooked but their cool to watch & make neat sounds. Its easy to get them worked up by whistling around them. Coturnix, act like Bob Marley their layed back. Don't worry be happy birds. They also make neat sounds. Coturnix lay eggs like crazy while Bob's are alot slower in the egg dept. I raise my Bob's in a big pen its 300 sq ft. my Coturnix are housed in above ground pens that are mainly half inch hardware cloth & around 25 sq ft..From my limited experience raising both birds I'd go with the Coturnix but if you do Bob's I would build a big pen for them. Here's mine right now I only have 50 so Bob's in there but will probably add another 80 or 90 next year when they start laying.
