Coturnix Quail Hatch Along

Also did an experiment this hatch waited till all of the experiment ones hatched till telling about it. I set 6 eggs and they did not get turned or touched other than the 3-4 candlings all 6 hatched 0 deformities and zero problems hatching.

Oh wow!!! That is super cool. It is actually something I’ve wondered about, and considered doing myself but I’ve always chickened out.

Those babies look ADORABLE I love tuxedos sooooo much!!!

I have to get some updated pictures of all my chicks. They’re all looking good, and are either fully feathered or starting to feather. The albino is a bit smaller, but he is doing very good. I plan to move the older chicks outdoors once I get their new pens set up! I'm so excited

Up to 23 now lol the last two should hatch today I will get pics once they do if they do it’s a 96% hatch rate. That sounds so exiting. Glad the albino is doing good I have one that going to be all white but I don’t think he’s albino as he doesn’t have red eyes.

I could only dream of a 96% hatch rate Those shipped eggs kick my butt!! I’m 6/6 with eggs from my own birds though

Yeah these were not shipped all from my birds this hatch rate does not include the 3 clears the quiter or the one that got cracked and draining it didn’t help.

Ooo I’m so ready to get these birds into their new pens!! I currently have 3 roos, and all of my hens in a large pen. I have 2 more roos in individual pens attached to the main pen. Everything is chicken wire though and while I haven’t had any issues besides a hawk landing on top.. I know it is a matter of WHEN a predator gets in NOT IF!! Plus it looks ugly

I finished staining for the most part, and it looks far better. Took me about 12 hours to do everything!! Everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to stain it, but now they’re telling me it was a good idea because it’s less of an eyesore I do think finishing building may get pushed back slightly as the hardware cloth has yet to ship

Anyways, this is Nascar. He is Zapdos and Chunks dad. Also my favorite roo, he’s awesome I may hatch out a few more chicks from this dude, not sure yet…

And this is Zapdos now! They look quite similar, but Zapdos has more black. I also prefer how symmetrical his markings are compared to his dad. He’s not as people friendly as Nascar, but he’s not mean so I consider that a win

All 25 are out and running still sucks I had to cull the one but he was suffering. Wil get pics later a lot are tuxedos but a lot are not.
