Coturnix Quail vids for fun :)

The past two days for fun I video taped my quail for a bit....thought i'd ad em here for you guys to see

First is from yesterday...I put the camera in the outdoor part of the cage and shut it in there and went about feeding like I normally do....it's so cute how some of them were really curious and unsure about the camrea....after you see the huge quail head on the screen listen for the "PECK PECK PECKS" as it pecks the camera

And this one is from today them eating their protien source (wet canned cat food)....just kinda cute...and yes in both vids you'll notice a tiny BQ runnin around

Are yours still laying?

I've had to start supplementing light already. I have some young ones that are laying tiny pullet eggs.

They're 10 weeks old now, and I honestly dont expect eggs until spring. I dont use artificial lighting or keep their hutch heated so they're going with natural-type hibernating on the breeding and egg issue. The males haven't even done the courting call yet and none of them are even attempting to mate, so I fully cannot wait for spring to start hearing them call that funky call they do and get my pretty speckled eggs!
