Well everyone, I have 3 coturnix quail in my resedentiual backyard, and was wondering what i should do during the winter, i live in Canada, so we get a fairly hard winter, and was worried if my little babies would be comfortable. They live in a 4ft X 8ft, by 3ft tall enclosuree, and have went thru the summer very well, they are a few months old, so they are deffinatly full grown. I was wondering if boarding off a 2ft by 4ft spot of the cage, with a heating lamp inside, and a slightly raised floor board would be warm enough, i would also let them outside during the day to get some room to run around, but at night they would stay in the "hutch." Tell me what you think of this idea, or any other suggestions, Thanks!

They will do fine, I live in WY and have them outdoors also and have a small wooden box for them with some straw, they have survived our winters well!!
Good luck
