We live in rural northern MI, so bears are common, but there has been an occasional cougar spotted on trail cams close by here. I have been told that they silently stalk their prey (mostly deer), and that if there was one in a tree near you, you prob would never know it. Walking around my property, this is the predator I fear the most, although I don't think chickens would be their first choice-they live too close to humans and not filling enough
