One of our ducks has a slight cough. Is this something that will go away on its own? We got 2 ducks about 6 weeks ago from a friend, and quarantined them the best we could for 2 weeks. No one else is doing anything weird. We also have them with chickens and turkeys. Will anything else get it?

Thanks.

Not sure if the coughing duck is one of the new ones.

Coughing could be related to something stuck in the throat, an environmental trigger (mold, dust, ammonia), something in the nares, upper respiratory infection, or gapeworm.

Some of those can be picked up by other birds.

Does the duck have access to clean water deep enough to wash his or her entire head in?

How are his or her poops?

Appetite?

Weight?

Feather condition?
