My 1yo Barred Rock is sick. Yesterday day he was fine with no symptoms. Today we went to town and by 11 am when we got back he had a gurgling cough and was wheezing. We've isolated him and none of the hens are yet showing symptoms. He only coughs and wheezes now when he gets excited, but has a very horse crow. No nasal or eye drainage, no swelling, no sneezing. But he does seem a little low energy. He had a few rounds of watery poo but that's stopped. Any ideas as to what he might have caught? Or treatment tips? He is currently eating a high protein feed with no problems but has not wanted to drink the electrolyte and probiotic water I have given him.

No crow collar. We don't use them since we are way out in the country.

Have you brought in any new birds recently? If so, did you quarantine for 30+ days? Have you checked inside his throat and windpipe for any obstructions? Can you record a video of his breathing?

No. We have not brought in any new birds recently. Yes we checked for obstructions. We ended up giving him some VetRX and electrolytes and separating him from the flock. He is almost all better now. Thank you for your help though ❤
