could a roo's spur slice her slide?

there's no smell. she is eating and drinking and trys her best to try to get away from me when I do go and put her down. She is separated from the flock (I also put another hen in with her yesterday because the 2nd hen is pretty bare and looked like she was going to start bleeding pretty soon). I trimmed 2 of my roos' spurs this weekend. (used the baked potato trick I read about on here and it worked great). I thought about trimming their nails but didn't know how to do it. Do I just use regular dog/cat trimmers (that look like big finger nail clippers but for animals)? How do I keep it packed with neosporin? Do I wrap her entire body? I've tried this before when I had to sew up a hen from a dog attack, but the dressing didn't stay on very well. She kept getting out of it.

I'll research the nail trimming and see what I can find.

I guess I could always think about getting more hens also. I've got about 30 hens (not including teenagers) with 3 roos. If I increase my hen count could this alleviate some of the problem? I'm doubting it will because it seems like the head roo has his favorite girls (3-4) and the rest don't have any feathers missing only those 3 or 4.

By packing... I ment fill the wound with neosporin.... Don't worry about wrap... they just don't keep it on.
I have my hen now with the young ones, broody and a couple of hens that just can't be put with the rest (twist beek & freedom ranger who is ready for processing)

she is recovering well... I do suggest taking her in an washing her really good... make sure the water is warm (comfortable) and get right in there and clean her out.....

Good luck, she will heal...

Yes more hens.. ( I am all about getting more chickens!)
