You're lucky. I certainly don't want to condemn an entire company for the bad practices of some of the locations and I'm sure the customer experience does vary by locale, but it bothers me when several of their stores have histories of selling bad feed. The one south of me in Ellijay, GA and the one Cetawin used to buy from in KY both were terrible about selling bags of moldy feed. And they flat didn't care, either. Never an apology, just a "well, what do you want
us to do about it??" attitude. She got attitude from the store manager, then the district manager, and then the regional manager on top of that, not one single bit of concern or remorse for any of her dead birds. I'm sure some of the stores are better than that, but there are enough horror stories about their feed (for whatever reason) that I will not buy from there (plus, they are too expensive anyway). I'm betting it's a storage issue. Cetawin has had feed with a dated tag showing it was
way too old to have been on their shelves, a tag one of the managers told her should have been removed (well, of course, right?
)
I apologize because that wasn't the real subject of the thread, but whether Dumor is made by Purina and I do think it is. I don't buy Purina feeds other than on rare occasions the game bird feeds because I prefer animal protein in my feed (as well as more cost effective feed).
I currently buy from the local county co-op who sells Tucker Milling feeds as well as ADM Alliance. I have used Buckeye feed and would again if someone closer to me carried it. Tucker Milling feeds have porcine protein in them, never been dusty or moldy so for now, that is my preferred brand.
