Could he be a Favorelles x Silkie mix? or is he something else?

He’s stolen so many hearts!! :love

That’s what made me thing Faverolles, everything I read says they are the o my “salmon” coloured birds out there and his colouring really represents that!

I’m not sure about everyone else, but I don’t classify them as a breed. My understanding is that any breed could be frizzled as it’s a feather type :idunno

I do know he is at least part Silkie since they told me that as one of the breeds, assuming what they say is true. The Favorelles would also give the 5 toes but I think the other two frizzles have 4 toes. At least 1 has 4 if I’m not mistaken...I’ve been trying to narrow down what they are mixed with alongside the Silkie in him. Probably should have said that  Some of the pullets give me Polish vibes but those two are from the older pullets they had available.. the younger ones all give me Cochin and something else that was frizzled.. :caf

Edit: Forgot to mention I know about the frazzles! That’s why he was separated and paired with my crossbeak Ameraucana pullet and not the two frizzles, as cute as that would have been.
Silkies are generally heavily crested, with hard feathers that can look very polish indeed.

Went to do night chores and snapped a few face shots and some of his “tail fins”. I never realized just how much colour his beard had

He's silver duck wing.
The salmon part of salmon Faverolles really is more towards the females when you're describing coloration.
Males are silver duck wing patterened/colored the only variation is black is sometimes replaced with a smoky grayish blue in the case of blue salmon Faverolles.
The silver duck wing presents on other breeds too but on Faverolles it is the one male variant, unless you're lucky enough to have whites or another fancy color.:)
Edited: because I typed gold not silver.
This is the female side of the silver duck wing pattern when not applied to Faverolles.
This is Dooneese, she is a Faverolles/Speckled Sussex mix and inherited dad's pattern due to the mix.

If he isn’t a Salmon Favorelles cross of some kind, what colour would everyone see him as? I’m interested to see what everyone says for that answer

Thank you so much!! I have been told before he might be a “golden” partridge but that didn’t seem right after he filled out more..

Dooneese is adorable! I love her colouring with the Favorelles look, why can’t the females be that colour anyways :gig Could Ori potentially pass on his colouring to offspring if I later on hatch some eggs? I’m not well versed in chicken genetics yet but I do hope to look into it more in depth this year and possibly start some little home projects with my flock

Im pretty sure Ori can and will pass on the coloration among other things like toes, skin color, comb and even temperament to a nutty extent.
So far iv'e only had barred genetics "Dominiques" and blue Ameracuna even coming close to blotting out the Faverolles genes on a visual level at least at first glace, if you know what to look for though it sticks out pretty good.
I hate to pop Doneese's bubble but despite her cuteness she's a little bit mean.
Dad isn't, Mom isn't but she sure is.
I broke her out of the egg so maybe I jiggled her noggin in the process.
She is tiny so her tude isn't the biggest of deals anyway.:)

Is it the Ameraucanas in general blotting out the genes or is it the blue throwing weird genetics into the mix? I’m possibly thinking about breeding him and I’m looking at keeping his looks around, he’s got a pretty cute personality to go along with them as well. Him being smaller than your average male bird definitely helps with keeping him “cute”.

I do want to keep the smaller sized birds so I was thinking a smaller breed of hen would be my first choice for him. Any breed I can find in bantam I’d imagine would be my first lost to look at :caf

Well yes and no.
It took over body shape, facial structure the stuff most people look at.
My hen was in the percentage that fights being either color so she's both silver duck wing top layer and mom's pretty blue underneath.
I think there is a 20% chance of Kiwi's color, 80% of just blue.
She took dad's skin color and some extra toes plus a neat line of leg feathers.
She kept the blue egg gene.
