Raise a few roosters together long enough so we can have them as meat birds? Ok so don't laugh but we got a straight run of chicks. There is no way we were blessed enough to only have one roo. So I was wondering if we could raise them long enough (maybe separately?) so we could use them as meat birds? And when are they at their prime to eat anyway?
Thanks

About the time they start to get their crow and start to get mean, you will have butchered them. You can raise them together.

Great growth rates ; by any chance do you know the dressed weights on them ?

8 to 12 pounds

That's larger than the average adult live weights of White Rocks . Any chance they were really white cornish rocks ?

???????????????? I think your numbers might be off a bit. That's better than industry standards.

Well let me tell you that last year was our first time raing chickens, the feed mill sold us a straight run of white rocks and we never lost one and the guy that did the killing said he never seen chickens that big...he called them monster birds...i gave a couple away and the people thought they were turkeys. and i can tell you that my numbers are most definitely not off thank you very much
