Hi!
One of my quail passed away a month ago. And yesterday one of her friends showed the symptoms exactly like her. Mucousy string poop with water, not eating or drinking, lethargy..
I took the one that has passed away to the vet before and vet prescribed levamisole and Enrofloxacin to her. But none of them worked and she passed away after struggling for a week. :(

Could it be coccidia ? I want to save this one please help.
Is levamisole effective for coccidia or should I get toltrazuril or amprolium?
yesterday I gave him levamisole incase it could help but no change for now :(

I believe the only treatment out of those for coccidiosis is the amprolium (labeled as Corid), which is a vitamin B blocker (lamens terms lol). I’m sorry this is happening, coccidiosis does make sense with the stringy, mucus poops.

Thank you for the reply. I will try to get amprolium. But incase i cant find it would toltrazuril be ok? It says it is used for coccidia on the net.

I'm sorry about your Quail, I'm not that familiar with them, but yes, you can use Baycox (Toltrazuril) to treat for Coccidiosis.

Did your vet happen to run a fecal float to see if worms or anything else was an issue.
Could be enteritis, but the Enroflaxacin *should* have treated that.

Levamisole is a de-wormer, so it would not be effective against Coccidia which is a protozoa.

I'll tag in @casportpony and @TwoCrows to see if they have any other input.

Thank you for the explanation. 🙏
No, unfortunately vet didn't make any fecal float test. It's really hard to find an avian vet where i live :(
I visited and called so many vets today but only one of them had Toltrazuril, and none of them had amprolium.
