If you buy fertile eggs for your birds to hatch he might father them, and they might inherit the gentleness.

I wonder if his infertility is part of why he has such a gentle personality. He is beautiful, sorry you’ve had such bad luck!It is but, this guy is awesome. He is a very gentle soul. He take treats politely and then offers them to his hens. He make sure everyone is feed first. If a squabble breaks out somewhere he is johnnie on the spot to restore peace. He even gets along with our dogs.
Ill give them another day or two and while my hens are still broody, I guess ill take a trip to the egg doctor.if anyone out there has a few of these I would be interested..If you do buy fertile eggs, or chicks, it will be far more likely that you will be able to keep both him and the new cockerel together without excessive fighting than bringing in a new adult cockerel. A cockerel who has reached maturity will see him and try to claim his flock, whilst a younger bird may accept his seniority.
never thought of that..however he is pretty aggressive visiting all his girls when I let everyone out in the evenings. sometimes multiple times..lol!!I wonder if his infertility is part of why he has such a gentle personality. He is beautiful, sorry you’ve had such bad luck!

Wow those are some GORGEOUS hens. Blue Laced red Wyandottes, I believe. I just hatched out some but all were either pure white or blue, not a red in the bunch. If you find the breeder for these girls, please let me know.
Those are actually Barnevelders (red) very similar to a Wyandotte but, the pattern is different. The barnevelder pattern is more complex. I would be happy with either.Wow those are some GORGEOUS hens. Blue Laced red Wyandottes, I believe. I just hatched out some but all were either pure white or blue, not a red in the bunch.
