Yikes - I'm really stuck on this one!

Robin is a mixed cochin that just turned 9 weeks old.

We initially thought "roo" by chick feather development, then she turned pretty pullet-y and I was all like, YEESSS! A GIRL!! but now I don't know anymore!

She has NO comb whatsoever and tiny wattles so hard to tell - I don't see any sickle tail feathers but the hackles on her neck seem pointy to me...

And her face. Red, red, red as a strawberry - I don't know if girls get such red faces at 9 weeks of age??

What do you think?

You have a pullet there. My Cochin pullets started getting red around that age too. At 9 weeks old, with no waddles or comb, I seriously doubt it's a roo. I don't really see anything that screams roo at all. If anything, everything screams pullet. Hope that eases your mind!

Agree, plus pullets usually get the red leakage in the neck like yours has. Boys typically get that in the back/wing or saddle feathers.
