try a piece of watermelon and put the feed in a scooped out portion (the "bowl") it will moisten the feed and the red color will encourage her to peck (probably why she was attracted more to the tomatoes)

Luna, when I had my first problem with the hen Zipfi, I was coached through the 'cure' by nnbreeder, who is a member here. I have since decided that tomatoes are a wonder food for hens with crop trouble, and I have 4 large bushes of them growing outside the barn. And so we pay it forward, and I'm sure you and Wynette do the same!

I feel the same, LynneP! Everyone has their little areas of expertise, and BYC just ROCKS because of it! You need to be willing to share, and willing to listen...if everyone does both, we'll ALL have happier, healthier chooks in the end, for sure!
