Yes, with Light Brown varieties, there is a DISTINCT difference in coloring between the roosters and the hens. Thats why after only about 3 weeks, I know boys from girls in my Dutch bantams, the boys will get red in their wings, the girls do not. Some other breeds that are easy to tell sex on early on is Salmon Faverolles, Silver Grey Dorkings, and TRUE Blue Wheaten and Wheaten Ameraucanas, NOT EE's. Oh and Sex-Links, though I do not own any of those LOL.
