About two days ago, I noticed one of my birds, a Cobb, who free ranges has an enlarged growth on her "chest" that looks bright red and has no feathers. She's not acting any differently that I can tell, and has been eating and drinking normally. I've heard that using straw in the nesting boxes can cause that, but we don't use straw at all; we use pine shavings, the big kind. I would post a picture, but I've put her in a crate on my front porch and every time I try to get her to stand up, she just gives me a "go straight to hades" look. She's not the friendly kind anyway, so I'm more than happy to leave her alone. I put some mashed up boiled egg with some olive oil in a bowl, but it doesn't look like she's touched it (maybe because it's dark already...??). Anybody have any good advice?
