I have an Ameraucana hen and a little Mille Fleur bantam and both I noticed today have lost their feathers under their beaks. The other hens, a red star, silky and plymouth rock, have not lost any feathers.
My Ameraucana was born in Spring the other hens were born in Summer . My Mille Fleur has yet to lay an egg.
So there is a bit of difference in age. My Ameraucana has not laid in egg in 3 days but has been a pretty steady layer so far.
Could it be even though there is a difference in age and egg laying these two are starting to molt?
