Too many false negatives with water candling. It can prove life, but it cannot prove death and too many are lost by assumed death when they actually weren’t.

Candling with a good bright flashlight is much more efficient and reliable.

Yep. Totally agree. Learning how to spot internal pips and every other aspect of candling is still the most efficient way to determine what’s happening inside that shell. And learning that gift of time. That’s even harder. Knowing if I should give them a few more days in the incubator, understanding that estimated hatch dates are just that - estimates. Knowing how accurate temp and humidity readings can affect success and how and when to make adjustments can’t be replaced with dunking eggs in a glass of water.
